Our Story
Hazel & Harley Salon opened its doors in 2014. As my husband and I dreamed of opening our own salon our main goal was to create a space that made stylists feel at home, cared about, and supported in their careers. We wanted to create a space that was welcoming, beautifully and uniquely designed, and comfortable for the client. The picture shows us on our first day of construction, me 9 months pregnant, and my husband eagerly excited to get demo started. We spent the next 5 months working day and night alongside close friends and family to create our salon. Through stressful moments, many tears, a few injuries, and the birth of our baby girl Hazel we succeeded in our goal- Hazel & Harley Salon was here. Harley, our son, was born a few years later.
Our goal from the very beginning was to create a space that independent stylists could call home. A salon that did its absolute best to avoid drama, create community, and be different. We have always been very slow to hire new stylists because it was more important to us to have team members that fit our culture and shared values of kindness and respect. We are by no means perfect but we continue to strive to achieve these goals and continue investing in this place that means so much to us.
